Reverie

Folio · Support

Reader gifts pay correspondents.

Reverie runs on small, repeated contributions. They fund travel, stipends, translation, and the unhurried work of making a story right.

A principle, written once

Support does not determine coverage. We do not accept money in exchange for a story, a slant, or a silence.

We publish what we believe should be read. Donors are listed in the colophon, never on the page. Reverie is not, and will not be, a sponsored medium.

Where the money goes

A short, honest ledger.

  • IA correspondent's travel for a single story≈ $400 – $1,200Train, lodging, modest meals, fact-checking back-and-forth.
  • IIA small stipend for a student writer≈ $300 / pieceWe pay our writers, even when the budget is thin.
  • IIITranslation and on-the-ground fixers≈ $200 – $700We pay locally and at fair rates wherever we report.
  • IVHosting, design, and the slow upkeep≈ $100 / monthNo ads, no trackers, no paywall — that part is intentional.
Two ways to give

Small and repeated is best.

i. Monthly

Give a small amount, often.

Steady monthly support is what funds a correspondent on a long assignment. $5, $12, or $25 per month all matter.

ii. Once

Underwrite a single story.

A larger one-time gift can carry an entire correspondent's travel, stipend, and translation costs. We will write back with what we are working on.

Write to underwrite a story
